Photos & GoPro Video

What a great time riding around Scotland. All in all I covered just shy of 2000 miles. The routes and campsites Andy chose were spot on. We sacrificed Applecross and Ullapool, and stayed 2 nights in Evanton nr Alness instead. This enabled us to ride that great wild road up via Bonar Bridge and Lairg to Tongue. Then east to John O' Groats via Thurso across the top of the UK. I do hope that guy made it to Lands End - and his rear wheel didn't fall of too many times (he only made it to the Cafe at John O' Groats from the van !!). Good to meet Andy's mate Stewart (or Stuart :-)), couldn't believe how light it was coming out of the pub at 11:30 at night - it was like 5:30 in the evening !!

Afterwards we had a great ride down the East coast from Wick to Golspie and back to Evanton. Grabbed some Fish and Chips in Alness, and then did our good deed for the MS Society cyclists doing JOG to LE  - and did the chippy run for them. The ride around Loch Ness the next day, followed by the Kyle of Localsh (Ealean Donan), Fort William and an evening ride through the mighty Glencoe to our Campsite in Oban. The weather was stunning, and made for a very memorable (and warm) ride.

I really enjoyed the road from Oban to Lochilphead A816, followed by Inverary, Loch Lomand and the Trossachs down through Ayr and into Dumfries and Gallaway.

Finally back to the Midlands and the Hubb event via the Yorkshire Dales.
